Fix CRC error?

I have a drive that my system or any other system just won't read... after frigging around with it I finally have vista recognizing the drive and that I have to initiate the drive to use it. I go to initiate it and it gives me a Cyclic redundancy check error... I know the drive had become corrupted. I don't care about the files at this point on the drive... just want to format it. Does anybody know of a program that may be able to fix the crc error on the drive.

Have you tried Partition Magic or GParted? What about using a Windows XP CD?

I had tried it before and it wouldn't work but I'll test it again... I did get a bit farther in it... might be able to read it now... I think there might still be hope... I'll keep you posted.
