I just had a brainstorm.

I started firefox in "safe mode" just to see what would happen. Sure enough, firefox worked perfectly. It did NOT flicker at all.

Which must mean it has something to do with extensions or add ons I suppose.

But good luck figuring out which one....

This happened to me some time ago, and the way I fixed it was to uninstall FF and reinstall FF.

I uninstalled firefox and then reinstalled it. Same thing still happens....

Have you tried cleaning out your registry, checking for viri and spyware?
