I have a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 film scanner, operating on Windows XP Home.
On launching the startup software, I get a couple of 'whines' as if the scanner is initialising, but then nothing further happens. The startup process hangs, with the initial blinking light remaining on a blink rather than going to steady, as if ready for scanning to begin. then an error message comes up -: Error=1.Unknown error. Comfirm all other Dimage Scan software is closed"'
The scanner has been sent for repair but returned as without any faults.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing on internal drive, an external drive and on a different stand alone Windows XP home desktop PC.
The fault is the same in all of these situations.
I have run out of ideas!!
