Extracting stuff (winzip etc) Painfully slow

Thread title says all, I downloaded a 6mb file including a few wavs inside, and it took roughly about a minute to extract the files. For 6mb of zipped files it should not take that long, it used ot be instant

But My PC has been acting slow and annoying recently and it's really ticking me off

Got 2.52ghz
and 2gb of 3200 ram , but apparently it's being underclocked to my old 2100 speed, so really....2gb 2100 ram

If your PC's been slow, than reformat. when my PC starts acting slow its usually time for a reformat.

might be a dma issue , check dma settings in bios and also if your using the nvidia ide driver uninstall nforce and reinstall without it

I'm not going to delete my HDD just for a slow down problem, it can probably be fixed.

deframent hard drive, delete temp files, unistall unused program, check startup programs in msconfig (if you dont need them running during startup deselect them)
