External HDD 'not responding'

Hi guys,

I need help to fix my Samsung D3 external HDD.

I was putting some videos on it on Saturday when it stopped responding and froze. When trying to access files on it after that it was again freezing and saying that it was 'not responding'.

I've tried the chkdsk E: F/ R/ system and it is identifying bad clusters but then that is freezing at 13%. I've left it overnight to see if it goes past 13% but it's not. I don't know what else to do.

Can you help?

See if you can access the files to back them up using a Linux LiveCD, such as Ubuntu.
