external hd - power supply issues

recently, my power supply fried when i tried to plug it in to an old hd. the hd i have is just a generic 500gb:

i can't seem to find JUST power supplies for sale online. can someone point me in the right direction? any help is appreciated.

ps - sorry about the giant images. im too lazy to resize them...
 
Is there a brand name for that thing? It looks like an AC adapter for a laptop...
 
What's the make and model of your EHDD? Is that the adapter that came with it or did you try to use one from another? Also, if you look at the drive you should be able to find the voltage rating, in/out, etc, you can then look for a new one based on that info.

Try using this as a goolge search: ac adapter 100-240 VAC, 50/60Hz, 2A
and see if that helps. You can try just a web search or click the shopping option.
 
ive tried google... i can find power adapters with circular adapters, but none that are like this:

That looks like a PSP or an S-video input...the round one, the other, like firewire...no that's the USB in/out, huh? And is the little white circle the LED indicator? Can you post a less blurry photo, I see your knee better than the drive:D
