Default External Hard Drive(Question)

I got this external and I am wondering....It said to reformat my PC to FAT32 format or something like that,should i?Does it affect my external?And why reformat?

Don't. You are running XP, I presume, Just plug in the drive usb and format NTFS. That's it! simple!

Are you running XP Home or XP Pro? If you are, you just want to format the new drive, not your pc.

Yeah but I heard that it'll run better and faster.I do not plan on formating because it is way too much work.But I am wondering why,and ect....

It's the boot HD he is talking about, not the USB. Is the Master IDE or primary SATA drive formated FAT 32? If it is do this:

Go to Run>type CMD
type in the command prompt: convert C: /fs: NTFS. That will convert your FAT 32 to NTFS and you will not lose any data.
