external hard drive ntfs now shows as RAW???please help

I have a external hard drive that froze up on me whilst working on images from it. It no longer shows on it's properties as NTFS it shows as RAW??? with no space left, I've run chckdsk on it and I don't know how to clear up the problem or is my drive just trashed now. It indicates also in properties that it's working properly.

Any advice, help will be much appreciated.

go to contorl panes/administrator tools/computer management and in computer management go to disk manager and see what it says there. you can also try to use a file restoration utility to read files off of the drive if they are realy important

having the same problem. My post was NTFS AWOL. I was wondering which file restoration program bmxfreakrider would recommend? Are there any tricks to it?
Lil_lady was there a program you installed or something you did just before it happened? I can't figure out what went wrong with mine only know that I installed cordless keyboard and mouse, used decrypter and shrink but can't think of anything else. Have you solved your problem?
