Default External hard drive

I dropped my external hard drive and now my computer will only install the drivers but i cant transfer files to or from my hard drive.

open it up and check the connections?

Take the hard drive out and hardboot it from IDE

Open up the enclosure. Take out the HD. Plug it in as slave. See if it works.
