EXTERNAL HARD DISK - NO SPIN

My brand new hard disk slid off the sideboard on to the floor
Now it does not spin - has anybody stripped down a Seagate hard disk?
Apart from throwing it away, can anybody give me some advice as to how I might get it working again?

I would pull it out of the enclosure and hook it directly to your computer in case the issue is with the enclosure and not the hard drive.

You're very unlikely to be able to get it working on your own, and the only way you'd be able to get your data off it would be to send it off to a professional data recovery service, which tend to cost £100+.

Not worth sending to "data recovery people" Cost was £100.00 and I have recovered the data elsewhere.
