Default EVGA 7900GT Being Slow

I think my specs are in my sig havent been back here since a monthy ago when I built my pc, but anyway, in BattleField 2 in single player with 32 bots on all medium settings 1024 x 768 no AA and I get 15 to 25 frames per second all the time. If i run to a deserted location where nothing is at i can get 40-60 but once someones there it jumps way down. And also I keep getting random crashes at any time and I dont know why, I know its not BF2 as ive tried different patches and reinstalled alot, Im about to install UT2004 and see how it does there. But im thinking, I might of recieved one of those evga messup cards that werent done correctly. My benchmark for 05 is around 8450. I should be dominating BF2.

set the game to run on one processor core. check the drivers for the card. if all else fails RMA it.
