I have two problems that I can't seem to correct. I am out of ideas. The problems pertain to a new Ethernet card a new DVD combo. I have the software for both. Windows is not detecting the drive. Now when I go to device manager, it is shown with an exclamation point.
The network card is not recognized at all. In device manager it shows ethernet controller with an exclamation point, but not the one installed.
What I have done with both:
1. installed/uninstalled several times. Rebooting each time. The card acts as though it is being installed. Then installation stops with an error message (error message #34. Wrong INF.
Different then what was requested.
2. I chaned the slots for the card
3. I changed the DVD combo from master to slave
4. Contacted the broadband internet technicians. They couldn't figure out the problem.
This computer is running Windows 2000 professional.
