For some reason whenever i try to convert my Extrenal 500GB Transcend StoreJet it wont work. heres what i get, any help would be wonderful, i don't want to have to reformat this drive, its got my folder with all 158GB of the Lion King in there

H:\>chkdsk
The type of file system is FAT32.
Volume Serial Number is 1005-1B41
Windows is verifying files and folders...

Enter current volume label for drive H: Transcend
Convert cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Convert may run if this volume is dismounted first.
ALL OPEN HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID.
Would you like to force a dismount on this volume? (Y/N) y

This drive is dirty and cannot be converted. You will need to
clear the dirty bit on this drive by running CHKDSK /F or allowing
AUTOCHK to run on it the next time you reboot.
The conversion failed.
H: was not converted to NTFS

The Lion King?

That shouldn't be a problem. Did you try using Gparted?

GParted requires you to reformat.

Did you do like the command prompt suggested, and instead of just running Chkdsk, use the /f flag? Use both the /r and /f switches to make sure the drive is good/ready.
