Default emachines wont log on

when my computer is loading up it says it has to check a drive and then it does that and fails. it says the 13144 is not writeable and teh nit continues to the log in screen. then i put my password in and it goes and then my computer just shuts down. what do i need to do to make it work right again? thanks

sounds like your harddrive has died..you could try a reformat, but you will probably need a new one..

run a tool like norton disc doctor to see if you can fix it
