Emachines w2060, after a breif power failure the monitor says no signal.
The power led does not come on but the fan starts and I see the hard drive led blink once at power up. Also the dvd drawer opens and I get the led indicating the drive is working. I beleive the floppy drive is dead.
There are no audio beeps.
I measured the power supply outputs and they are all present. It seems the power led and the floppy drive are powered from the mother board and eveything else has leads direct from the power supply but I cannot confirm this.
The video card is part of the mother board.
I was thinking of borrowing a video card and trying to install it in a pci slot.
What do you think, am I wasting my time. Has the motherboard been fried and need to be replaced? I would like to have the floppy disk functional.
