Dynex Usb Microphone Problems

I just bought the Dynex USB Microphone and it doesn't seem to record. I've tried going to Start-All Programs-Entertainment-Sound Recorder and the wave form isn't moving at all. So then I tried the sound test which didn't work either.

My computer has 4 USB Ports (2 in front, 2 in back). The Microphone only turns on when I plug it into a specific one in the back. In the manual it says that it's suppose to appear in device manager as USB Composite Device but all I see is USB Audio Device is that part of the problem?

have you set the microphone as your default recording device?

you may do this by going to Start > Contol Panel > Sound Speech and Audio devices > Sounds and Audio Devices > Click the Voice Tab > set default recording device to your USB microphone

If this doesnt work try installing the latest drivers for that microphone.
