Default DVI confusion

First off, Hi! I'm looking forward to contributing to this forum =)

I have a question in regard to DVI Dual Link compatibility.

I have a EVGA 8800 GT Graphics card that has a DVI-Dual Link output. I am in the process of buying a cord to connect to my LCD that has an HDMI input. Will a DVI-single link cord to HDMI work? or do I need to find a specialized cord that's specifically "dual link"?

Here is what I'm looking at to purchase
Newegg.com - Link Depot 6 FT DVI TO HDMI CABLE Model LD-DVI6HDMI - Cables

just want to make sure it will work. Thanks in advance.

Default Re: DVI confusion

Depends on what resolution you're wanting to go for.

DVI Single link vs. Dual link

Single link will work, but can only display up to 1920x1080 res, while dual link can go higher.
