DVD-RW Drive Not Reading Any Media

Hello, awhile back my girlfriend had to get a new DVD drive for her computer. It was working fine up until about a month ago (since then it has had no activity). Now it won't recognize any media, whether it be a blank disk, computer game, or dvd. I've updated the drivers on it, no luck. The model of the drive is:
LITE-ON DVDRW SHM-165H6S

Try this reset tool:

Xp
Restore CD/DVD Drives to Explorer

Vista:
The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista

Once complete, please restart

Also run > CCleaner

Then test your DVD Drive again

You may also need to run a Cleaner Disc through it too
These discs can be purchased from most computer and DVD (home and PC) sales shops
