Hello all, My friend recently had a weird issue with his DVD roms. When he boot up the computer, his bios claim there is no existance of any DVD-ROM drives. However, when he enters windows they can detect that the drives exist. So he tried to put a few DVDs in to test and see if it could read properly, and it couldn't. I've listed the things he's tried and so far I don't have a solution either. Does anyone of you have a solution to this?

He tried:
- updating firmware for both DVD-ROMs
- checking Device Manager for an error status (Result: no problems found)
- checking for lose wires

DVD-ROM info:
LG DVD-ROM DRIVE GDR-8162B
BENQ DW822A
