Dvd Ram Drive

Hey gang I'm new to the forum so be gentle on me. Here is my problem: My dvd ram drive will read a disk with no problem. I can copy files off of the disk in the drive to my hard drive, but when I try to copy something from my hard drive onto a disk in the dvd drive, I get a window that says "insert disk in drive". Any help that you can provide will be greatly appreciate. Thanks

Is the discs write write protect tab set? Or is the disc set to read only. You may have to reformat the disc in order to write to it.

IS this a DVD Writer? Being a DVD RAM drive like you said only allows for you to read from the drive. You need a DVD Burner to be able to burn to it and even then you need some good software to write to it as the Windows default writer stuff isnt that great.
