I have an HP Compaq Presario with a 16x DVD(+/-) R/RW 12x RAM (+/-)R DL Lightscribe SATA that won't recognize that a DVD is in the machine. CD's don't have a problem. :grind_teeth: It's rather frustrating because I am trying to load some programs that are on DVD and I'm copying them to one computer and moving the files to the computer in question to install. I'm about to give the computer back to the owner and they won't have the option of doing that.
Are there jumpers on the DVD player that would affect whether it recognizes DVD's? Does this seem to be a driver issue? Is there any solution to this dilemma?
