DVD Drive Probs...

I'm building a computer for a friend and put this drive in, windows installs fine, then I try to install Office recieving the following error message:

Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was completed

I try other CD's and I get the same message so with a quick google I sort that problem out and it now works fine after changing the Transfer Mode to PIO Only in device manager.

Now the problem I have is it doesn't show the icon of any cd's it appears as:

The only CD I've managed to find that shows its icon is a random one I found at the bottom of a box that looks like its 10years old:

I thought it may have been the CD's so I tried them on another computer and they appear fine. Please could someone help me? The CD's seem to read fine its just the icons don't show, the computers for a friend and I don't want to give it him half decent.

seems like wrong functioning bios. try to update the firmware of the drive. this is at your own risk. first check the drives web page according to the model. you can find out the model from device manager.
if there any news, post again.

Have you tried other drives on the system or discs in the cd-rom?
