Unhappy DVD Drive problem

Hey all,
I am having some trouble with my DVD drive recently. It will not read any dics I put into it. My computer does recognize it and says its working properly, but it just wont work. I have not done anthing internally to my computer (all the cables are connected). It was working before and then it just stopped. Can anyone give me some suggestions on what I should do?
Thanks

did it ever make any kind of clicking noise ?
Is this Drive only a DVD-R ? If its a combo drive try a cd.
Its rather easy to screw up the I/O's.

Wow fast reply.
I think i hear a little clicking, but im not sure (my computer is very noisy). The drive is only a DVD-ROM/CD-ROM. I have tried CD's but they dont work either, although they have worked in the past.
