DVD Drive Not Reading Some Discs

Hey, I tried putting in Skyrim a couple of minutes ago, but my computer won't read it. Nothing comes up in the dvd drive, it just says "please insert disc". It'll still read music cd's and movies, but when I tried putting this game in it didn't work. Anyone have any ideas why?

Do you meet the requirements and have constant Internet access? Skyrim requires both to play.

That wouldn't matter, Mak. He's trying to go to the setup, not into the game. Could be a bad DVD disk/drive. Will this work in another system? Just to read it?
