dvd/cd burner no longer working?

My burner all of a sudden stopped working a month ago, finally getting to it now, but when Im done burning it has the autoplay show up on my computer and plays as if its a perfect burnt DVD but when I gave them to friends at work they said that it doesn't show up and its just blank, I tried it on my xbox and it wouldn't work.

Whats wrong?

What software are you using? Are you burning audio or data CD's? Are the discs being finalized?
