DVD burning never verifies

I use NeroStartsmart burning software, which came with a Liteon DVD burner I bought a couple of years ago. Recently I
purchased a Pioneer 111D DVD burner and my DVDs don't verify when I burn them. I took my pc back to the store and they
say the burner is ok and its probably a clash with my BitDefender antivirus software, Spysweeper anti spyware or Zone
Alarm firewall. It disappoints me because I was hoping that getting a new DVD burner would stop these verification errors
but the the errors say just 3 files out of 2000 or so did not match.

The retailer described my antivirus/antispyware software as "funny".

Is it likely to be responsible for the incompatibility?

Would I be better off with a more mainstream security product like Nortons?

It also slows my pc down to have these running in the background but I'm scared if I don't have them on all the time I'll
forget to turn them back on when I go from playing a game to logging onto the net. Does anyone know how to make it so
these anti spyware/virus utilities automatically start when logging into the net and automatically shut down when logging
out of the net?

Any advice appreciated.

It's not like you're going to get attacked the second you logon to the internet, lol.

Run the virus scanners once a night when you go to bed or something.
