Default DVD Burner Trouble

I just got a new PC and it supposedly has a DVD Burner in it (on it says DVD R/RW a Big RW with DVD+R DL in small text under it then the same kind of thing with DVD+ReWritable under it and Compact Disc ReWritable)

I am trying to drag the files over to the D Drive (CD Drive) and when I put in a dvd says "windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this file. What do oyu want windows to do?" but when I put in a CD it works normally.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Default DVD Probs

The native windows writing software will not write to DVD using drag n' drop. You will need a program such a Nero, EZ CD Creator, or Sonic to accomplish DVD writing. Also make sure you use the correct type of DVD (DVD-R DVD+R), although most newer drives support both formats.

if you find drag and drop easiest install inCD which comes with nero. then you can drag and drop files to a dvd. look at the freeware list in the windows OS forum for free burning software. try deepburner. also right now i'd like to say to everyone TF search is your friend. this question has been asked many times
