Default Drivers

My comp has been playing up lately nothing extreme but a little slower whe playing CS and COD online and general use of the comp. And a program has started not working properly after reinstalling it several times. So i went to upgrade my drivers but there is nothing in there (Drivers folder). Is this right? Could it be possible they are somewhere else? Does anyone know of a tool that scans your comps drivers and then lets you update them for free. I dl driverdetective but its not free to update your drivers with them.
