Well, like the others and I have said, the flash drive is probably toast in that case.

If it was only 4 months old, you can probably get it replaced under warranty (check to see how long the warranty on it is).

I think that you should attempt to format the drive outside of windows.
Like with a *nix boot disk or from a dos mode. If that doesn't work then rma the drive

Has anyone else had access to this drive apart from you in the 4 months you have had it?

Also when you said you were copying files a lot how big were those files?
