disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter

^^^^^^^^^^ yep.. just built a computer and booted it up and it said "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter"so i did so, pressed enter, the same thing popped up.. any help please?

Have you installed an operating system on it yet? If so, have you tried reinstalling this operating system?

If you have, the drive may be dead or the SATA controller (assuming that it's SATA because you said you just built it) could be bad. This is only if you've done the above, of course.

:EDIT: Or if you're trying to install your operating system, you probably need to change the boot order of your devices in the bios.

Yeah,im trying to download the operating system, the order is CDROM > Hard Disk > None

Is the OS disc you have even bootable? Have you tried to manually select the CD rom drive and boot off of it from the Boot Selection menu (usually F12)?

Sounds like you need a bootable OS disk - it should be a .ISO file.

You need to have the OS on a CD or DVD before you can boot the system to a operating system. The error you are receiving is that of the system not detecting a OS installed. So insert the OS CD/DVD then boot and go through the install.
