Help

can't turn on computer... Tried starting it via mobo start up button but nothing, no lights/ reference numbers showing on mobo panel

And a high pitching whine is coming from the power supply

I would try another psu first if you have a spare one around.

I would definitely try a new power supply first. Sounds to me it took a power surge for your MB. Any power psu will at least let you know if the MB fires up. Power supply is easy to change and are usually fairly cheap unless you have a super system.
