dfi lan party ultra-d & cd/rw

hi all..
i have a problem with my friends comp..
he has a dfi lan party ultra-d and he wants to connect a cd-rom to sata controller but something in bios wont let it work...i chat with him so i can not see his options in bios but maybe someone from you has the board and knows what the problem is...thanks in advance

P.S.the thing with cd-rom and sata is to bypass starforce and pluging the cabels off...
