Device Manager?

For some reason when I go into the Device Manager there is nothing but a blank white screen under the tabs, how can I get the devices on my PC to show?

I am trying to get the scanner on my printer working but cant get it to work, and i need to get into the device manager to try to find out what the problem is. I have been onto Epson about it and they said it's a communication matter and I believe it to be a driver problem cause the printer works but the scanner on the printer wont.
