Desktop problems!

My boss has a problem with his computer and seeing i may know a little more about it than he does he is having me take a look at it. I will be looking at it today but im not sure what it could be. The computer is turning on and booting up fine, but when he trys to access an internet website the computer completly powers down any insight on the problem would be a great help!

Could be many things. Does it only shut down when he opens a specific web browser such as "Firefox" or "Internet Explorer"? Or does it also shut off when he does other things as well?

We need more information to give a diagnosis. It could possibly be a virus.

im thinking a virus also but i have yet to look at it ! And iam going to check if it only shuts off with internet explorer.

Also, how would you describe the shutdown? Which does it do:
-Screen just goes black and power shuts off
-Flashes a blue screen with white text then goes black
-Pop up an error message then goes through the normal windows shutdown process
-Only goes through the normal shutdown process without your command
