Dell 17"lcd just has flashing buttons

I recently bought a used Dell lcd 17" monitor. When i recieved it, i plugged it in and all i got were the three button lights flashing in a weird pattern. There is no video, just the three buttons lighting up. I tried looking up online to see if maybe there is a way to reset the monitor, but i'm getting nothing. If anybody knows what this could, I could really use your help. Thanks!

have u tried another monitor on that computer since that Dell didn't work? or tried the dell on another computer?

I tried this monitor on a computer that is currently working fine. The monitor does the wierd flash thing both when it is plugged into a compute and when it is not, hope that helps.

that pretty much makes it certain that the monitor is a POS.
