Hello everyone.
A while ago, my girlfriend and I watched as her R9 270 died mid-game; and after thoroughly cleaning/testing it, I'm a little confused as to whether or not it is actually dead. As far as output goes; the card works. It outputs as a "basic video adapter" just fine, but immediately blacks out the screen when I try to install drivers for it; new or old. I've tested it in a number of PCs, some crash, some just black the screen out. Output quality/clarity seems to vary PC to PC; but it always works just fine until I attempt to install drivers. Is there some fixable issue that would cause this card to half-work? Or do we just have a cool looking paperweight at this point? Doesn't really matter since it's already been replaced; but, I'm still curious.
