The fan under your PSU, near your CPU should blow out. There should be a fan under your hard disks at the front of your case blowing in.

Well thank you very much. I have a lian-li pc-601b case. there is a fan sitting right next to the cpu and there is the power fan. The one that is sitting right next to the cpu fan is blowin out. That doesnt really make sence maybe i should switch the fan around. I just got everything for the computer i didn't re-use my other computer. I'll download that app and see if i can get it lower. Thanks man.

Are you saying that your CPU fan is blowing out?

That is wrong. The CPU fan should be blowing AT the CPU not out. Put your hand above the CPU fan. If air is blowing into your palm that is WRONG. You put it the wrong way.

TheMajor is right. The PSU fan is suppose to blow out.

Proper air flow should be:

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/142

You should have one fan below the HD (bottom front of case) blowing cool air in and a fan at the back (like the PSU fan) blowing hot air out.

The design for Prescott has a special vent specifically for the CPU fan. It is design to let air flow into the tube which aids the CPU fan blow cool air at the CPU.

If you own a Prescott or are planning to buy one read this:

It also has a link to Intel about the chassis design. Download the pdf file titled Chassis Design Guide Version 1.1 and then go to 2.1 in the document. If you have a Prescott you should definitely consider replacing or modding your case as specified.

I didn't mean the PSU fan, although it has to blow out as well. I meant the fan below the PSU. The case fan.

Ah I see. I think he meant case fan as well. I read it rather quickly. The case fan should blow out.

Haha. yeah, if my cpu fan blew the wrong way that would be bad. Haha that amuses me. i got my temp at about 50. No worries. Thanks.

i now have my box fan right against the back of my computer on the highest setting (lowered it 6 degrees so far) and i just installed my zalman :D which bought it down alot... i went from avergin 70 idle.. to 51 idle now...
