Title says it all.

The D drive doesn't seem to recognize any blank discs. I put in a CD-R disk and DVD+R discs, different ones. The green light goes on and it tries to read it, but simply doesn't recognize it. However, the drive works because it recognizes other discs with information.

The E drive works fine, as it will recognize the blank discs.

Suggestions? Tests to run?

Some info. showing D and E drive info:

FYI, It's a Dell Desktop, about 4 years old, Windows XP, SP3, Pentium 4, 1 GB Mem, 80 GB HD....

Any info. is appreciated. Thanks.

It will recognize the disk once it has been burned and has data on it.

When it is blank the drive will not know what to do with it and will not recognize it.
