So basically I had installed Windows 7 Pro on my computer but hadn't registered it. I used my girlfriend's mom's disk because I was planning on getting Pro. I eventually ended up getting an OEM of Home Premium and at the end of installation I had gotten the blue screen. Home Premium seemed to install fine except I still got a few blue screens every now and then. I delete the Windows.old file and that seemed to get rid of the blue screens. About a month later my computer started to freeze and restart. I did an hd test(can't remember which one) but it came up clean. Also ran memtest for 24 hours and it passed 24 passes, I then stopped. It seems that after doing that 24 hour test (with no crashes during it) that the crashes have become more common. Sometimes it'll even crash and then after it reboots, crash again. I have no idea what to do and any help is appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: My comp has been restarting as soon as it turns on. I heard somewhere online that if your computer doesn't crash in safemode then it is probably a software problem. Well I am in safemode and it seems to be working, I've been running for 10 minutes and started a defrag so we'll see what happens.

The next time it BSOD write down the STOP*** code and the error message.

If you can't read the code because the computer restarts on it's own after a BSOD, you need to open the Control Panel and navigate to:

System and Security > System > Advanced system settings

This will open the System Properties box and you should be on the Advanced tab, if not then click the Advanced tab. Near the bottom of the box you'll see Startup and Recovery and a Settings button. Click on Settings. This will open the Startup and Recovery box, near the middle you'll see a check mark next to "Automatically restart". Un-Check "Automatically restart", click OK and exit out of all the open boxes.

Now the next time it BSOD you'll have to reset the computer, and if it turns itself Off you have a power or heating problem.

Well it doesn't actually do a BSOD and when I uncheck automatically restart, it still restarts. The graphics card game overclocked I would have no idea how to do it. I bought it new so it should be okay. I reinstalled Windows today in hopes of getting rid of (if it is software) the problem. Is there any chance a program could be crashing the computer, a program like Avast?

It is too bad you reinstalled Windows as that is always the last resort. If nothing else, it destroys any evidence of old problems. Yes, programs can do it, but with established programs like Avast, it is usually a conflict with something else. But again, that evidence is destroyed.

It sounds like your computer is overheating or the power supply is dying.

Take the side panel off the computer, is it dusty? If it is dusty clean it out with compressed air (with the PC turned off and unplugged from the wall socket).

With the side panel still off, turn the computer on. Are all the fans spinning?

With the side panel still off, aim a house fan at the components for extra cooling and see if the computer runs a little better.

I've checked CPU temp and such and it was fine. The computer is like 2 months old so I don't think they would be dusty at all(I checked too). I don't mind having to reinstall Windows. It was running fine after reinstallation, I then downloaded Avast and was in the process of updating windows when it began to crash. I've reinstalled one more time, and this time I'm not going to use Avast at all, I know Avast is a good program but I'm just taking guesses here. I guess I'll update you guys tomorrow or something once I've updated Windows again and let it run for a while.

Okay guys I got the crash again. This time I saw a BSOD so I disabled auto restart and this is what I got.

By the way thanks for all the help guys.

And if anyone is wondering, I have a 64 bit version, I don't think I mentioned that in the original post.
