Default Crashing to a plain screen.

My brother's computer has quite an annoying wee issue playing games and watching full-screen films. The games affected seem to be the newest ones, with the except of COD MW 2. All older games appear to work.

The game he's trying to play now is The Sims 3. He gets as far to make his family and go to the neighbourhood, but then the game crashes to a plain black screen and it's locked there. There is no sound and the computer has to be rebooted. Apparently, other games don't last very long either (5-10 minutes) before doing the same.

It appears to happen when watching videos online as well, although only in full-screen. It doesn't crash to a black screen, but a colour similar to what was being displayed in the flim (ie, pink or tan).

The drivers have been updated and I can't seem to find any solutions online. Help?

- Vista Home Premium
- Athlon 7550 Dual0Core Processor ~ 2.4GHz
- 2814MB RAM
- nVidia GeForce 9200

Sounds like the card is overheating.
