Default CPU temps?

I get random temps on my cpu. today in idle it is 39C, yesterday it was 27C, and the day before 59C. my comp also crashes and the screen scrambles when i run a game. could the cpu or some cooling device be going out? computer specs are below, thx

~Dell XPS M1710
~2.16Ghz Intel Core Duo T2600
~2048 MB DDR2 @ 667Mh
~7900 GTX 512

Well the outside temp is also a factor. If your area is anything like mine than a few days ago it was really nice out. Then cold and then it was decent.

So the outside temp has a factor cause the warmer it is outside the warmer it is in the room with the PC right.

Try running CoreTemp. See what the CPU usign spikes at when gaming.
