So I just built a new system with the i7 2600k on the ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe Motherboard. I want to do a little overclocking and I though first I would try out ASUS's free "Auto Tuning" utility to see how well it worked.
Anyway I ran it once and I have no idea how much more I am getting out of my processor because I don't know how to calculate CPU speed. All I know is that cores 0-3 are running at Core Speed 1648MHz, 103.0x16. Obviously you don't multiply the core speed by 4, otherwise you get something like 6.6GHz and I would have the fastest 2600k in existence. The BIOS show just over 3.5GHz, which makes much more sense. Is that correct? How do you calculate CPU speed on a multi-core processor?
