My socket 939 AMD 4200+ isn't compatable with an Asus M2n-SLI AM2 motherboard is it?

no it wont its a socket AM2 motherboard

ive always wondered, but the am2 and 939 are only one pin different. what keeps the 939 from working on the am2? i never seen one in person so i dont know

all it takes is 1 pin and it wont fit in the socket unless you jam it in and then the processor will not work.

Yep, it's one **** pin. My problem is Newegg shipped me the wrong motherboard. I got lucky though, because the one they sent was actually the M2N-SLI Deluxe when I ordered the A8N-SLI. The M2N is an AM2 and the A8N is a 939, I've got a 939 X2 4200+, so i was really hoping I might be able to fit my 939 into the AM2 940, although I've never heard of anybody doing it haha. Guess I should let them know so I can get a new one.
