what would be the safest cpu temp of 3.2Ghz and 3.7Ghz? coz i think atm my cpu is at 3.2Ghz my temp is at around 40C at full load using prime95 but i havent tried it more than an hour yet.
While the i5 and i7 cpu's use a different chipset, P55 vs. the X58, they still operate quite simular. You can use this guide to help you, http://www.techist.com/forums/f10/i7-overclocking-guide-224693/. Print it out so you have it available while your looking at your bios.
how many hours do I have to stress test my cpu after ocing it?
if I enable xmp is it safe though? why it did decrease the cpu ratio to 17 instead of standard of 20? also if I leave the BCLK to 133 the memo speed is still @ 668mhz.
for some reasons when I tried to change the DRAM the max is 1333mhz. I changed the BCLK to 160 and the CPU ratio is @ auto after changing BCLK and DRAM to 1600mhz then the clock speed of the cpu is @3.2Ghz it doesnt stay @ 2.66Ghz but I wonder if its safe to stay @3.2Ghz because i didnt touch any of the voltages.
If you read the guide you would know that the 1333MHz setting is a ratio number, 1333=10. And you would know that the
BCLK x DRAM Ratio = The memory speed
160 x 10 = 1600

Above you said 1333mhz was the max. value. Do you have this setting at 1333 or 1600? 1600 equals a ratio of 12
160 x 12 = 1920
Your computer probably won't start at this memory speed
