Recently bought a new computer. The CPU is an AMD athlon 54 X2 3800+. The fan that is being used is the standard AMD fan. I noticed that whenever I'm gaming, a high pitch noise is generated. Closer inspection revealed that it was from the CPU fan. During gaming, the CPU temperature reaches about 59 deg C. That's when the noise generated. I changed the BIOS setting for the fan to run in Silent mode (lower rpm) instead of maximum mode. It's taken care of the problem but is that setting okay for the CPU cooling?
