Cpu Fan!!!

How fast should a cpu fan run????

I got a P4 531, 3.0ghz and the fan on it is running at 4441rpm and it so noisy! should i get a new fan cuz the noise on it is loud!

Samsung SV0802N 80 gig
Sata seagate 200gig
windows xp pro

Forgot 2 mention i have like 5 other fans on the chaisis but they arent as loud as the cpu fan

your BIOS might have fan control, Go into the BIOS and look for power management or something where you see your fan speed. Then normally you can set thresholds for the speed of the fan such as:

30C = min speed
50C = medium speed
70C = full speed

ok i enables smart fan on it and it seems 2 work but the temps a lil higher cuz it lowered the fan speed bout 1,120 so its good temps are aight

anythign at around 2000 rpm is pretty silent and still good cooling
