hi,
I built a sweet system about 6 months back and just noticed tonight that i connected both the separate SATA power cable and the normal legacy type power cable. It says on the drive (WD Raptor 74gb) that if you connect both types, it could damage the hard drive.
I have had no problems thus far and both have been connected for 6 months now.
Could it be that my Antec PSU has some type of safeguard against this, in case some fool like myself connects both?
When it says it could result in damage, would the damage be instant HD destruction or some type of slow meltdown over a period of months?
