Conexant fusion 878A problems.

I'm not very l337 at all but i just got help building this new computer. Everything works great but the tv tuner card. I couldn't get pixelstation v.5 to run it properly so I am currently running DScaler software and I reinstalled the drivers for the card. It's working now as far as the video input. I can get my cable to show up on my computer but without sound. I was told I should take an audio cord with two headphone prong male ends to the cards. I got one of these and connected the audio out from the tv tuner card to the audio in of the sound card. I then tried calibrating the DScaler every way I could to no avail. I've restarted several times and still can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.
