Hi, i am having a bit of a problem. My PC has been working fine for the past 3 or so years...but yesterday I tried to turn it on and got a nasty surprise. Instead of booting up, it just sat there. It wouldn't even load the bios, the monitor wouldn't respond (it said no signal found) and neither the keyboard or the mouse showed any signs of working (my laser mouse always had the red light at the bottom, even when the pc was just starting up). There was no sound, no beep, that you usually hear when you start the PC, and the keyboard lights didn't flash.
Now, everything was getting power. My two CD rom drives worked, and so did all the fans inside, and i would assume the hard drives worked, but it just wouldn't start up. I was hoping that someone with a bit more knowladge of computers would be able to help me. At first I though it was my RAM chips...but I have three in my PC, and i think it is pretty unlikely that all three died at the same time. It's not the graphics card (if i recall correctly, BIOS loads even without a graphics card) and it's not the power supply 'cause everything is getting power. So, the only thing i can think of is that my motherboard and/or CPU failed. Could someone with more knowladge give me an insight into this?
