Computer won't start after installing xfx 9800gtx plus

I recently bought a 9800gtx + to replace my BFG 7900GTX in my computer. To prepare for this, I recently bought a 1000w Corsair Modular power Supply for a future SLI setup (Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX 1000W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Power Supplies). After I installed it and plugged in two PCI Express connectors, the computer will start up but the monitor stays black. I also hear a 3 second beeping sound from the motherboard which I think isn't good. When I put the 7900gtx back in though the computer boots up fine. Any suggestions?

Its definitely the GPU.. try to RMA it..

check the motherboard manual for the POST beep and if it is the gpu probably you will have to rma unless you didn't seat the gpu in correctly

I'm pretty sure I seated it in correctly. you're supposed to put it into the pci express x16 slot and wait until it clicks in. Which I'm pretty sure it did. The thing is the card is so huge I had to kind of warp my hard drive bay just to get it in.
